Our Beginning
Valentía y Grit was founded by Neudis Abreu, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), with a vision rooted in lived experience. Born from her own journey of rebuilding life in Canada—navigating career, identity, grief, relationships, and belonging—this practice is an offering of healing to those walking similar paths.
Neudis created Valentía y Grit to make therapy not only more accessible, but more relatable—for people from diverse cultural backgrounds, those who speak multiple languages, and those who are bravely entering the often intimidating world of psychotherapy for the first time.
This space also holds another purpose: to support and guide emerging therapists, especially those who are knowledge keepers of their own communities. Valentía y Grit is a place where professional development and cultural wisdom can meet. Where being “in formation” doesn’t mean starting from nothing, but rather continuing from deep roots.
We come together here to create a space where your path toward well-being is honoured with understanding, compassion, and care.
